About me
I am Samantha Cortenbach, a senior/lead freelance VFX compositor with over 10 years of experience working on film, television and commercial projects. I specialise in Nuke compositing and have worked with international VFX studios across a wide range of productions, handling everything from complex shot work to lead compositing responsibilities.
I like figuring things out. Whether that means untangling a difficult shot, finding a more efficient way of doing something, building a small tool or gizmo, or digging into a technique I haven’t used before. I tend to be curious about the technical side of the work as much as the final image. I also keep an eye on where VFX is going, and have been experimenting with newer AI tools and workflows such as ComfyUI.
I work remotely from the Netherlands. Having worked with different studios and pipelines over the years, I’m used to adapting quickly to new environments. I’m comfortable working across Windows, Linux and macOS, with ftrack, ShotGrid and studios’ own proprietary production tools and workflows.
